Everything you need to know before your first class.
No! You do not need a partner to attend any of our classes. We rotate partners throughout class so everyone gets to dance. Come solo or bring friends — either way, you will always have someone to dance with.
Absolutely! Our progressive programs are designed from the ground up for complete beginners. Each monthly cycle starts with the fundamentals and builds from there. If the cycle has already started, our drop-in classes are a great way to jump in at any time.
Progressive Programs are structured monthly curricula that build your skills over a 3-month cycle. They run on Monday nights and are exclusive to members. Each month covers new material that builds on the previous, so you develop real technique and musicality over time. Visit our Membership Plans page to join.
Drop-in classes are no-commitment classes that run Wednesday through Sunday. No membership required — just show up and dance. Each class is $20, or you can use bundle credits for a discount. Great for trying different styles or dancing on your own schedule.
Bundles are pre-purchased class packs that save you money on drop-in classes. Choose from 10-pack, 15-pack, or 20-pack options at discounted rates. Credits can be used for any drop-in class at any location. Check our Bundles page for current pricing.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and clean shoes with smooth soles. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers that grip the floor. Dance shoes are ideal but not required — many students start in socks or dress shoes. As you progress, we recommend investing in a pair of dance shoes for the best experience.

Week of Dance is a special event that happens during the 5th week of months that have one. For just $10/day, you can try different dance styles and classes outside the regular schedule. It is a fantastic way for beginners to sample what BSO offers and for experienced dancers to explore new styles.
Team classes are advanced performance-focused training sessions that run on Tuesdays. They are designed for dancers who want to take their skills to the next level and perform with the BSO team. Team classes require a team-level membership. Talk to us if you are interested in joining!
